[Bryn is there in something more like fifteen, but it took her a moment to find something appropriate for what she has in mind. Still, eventually she walks in and glances around to see if Karis is there yet or not.]
[Bryn heads over, doing her best to hide what concern she has behind an expressionless mask. Before sitting down, she tosses Karis a palm-sized cloth bag that zips open and closed. It's meant for holding jewelry, but there's nothing inside.]
Sounds like the opening for a bad joke. "I like my coffee like I like my women!" or something.
[Bryn pushed away from the table and started pouring a cup of coffee for Karis, and one for herself. She left half her cup empty for milk and sugar, and once everything was all prepared, sat back down again. Casually, she slid Karis' cup toward her.]
[Karis takes the mug of steaming liquid and takes a long drink. She can half-feel the burn as it rolls down her throat and she sets the mug back on the table a moment later.]
[Bryn took a sip of her own coffee, and watched Karis over the rim contemplatively. When she set the mug down, she tilted her head at the other woman.]
Nothing new there. Can't find something to do? There's a lot of stuff on board that most people don't even try. Ton of books and movies if nothing else.

What's this?

[Bryn rolls her eyes. Whether or not Karis took the hair was irrelevant. Bryn had decided to counter Karis with some small show of bravado.]
Or were you planning on some sort of voodoo ritual?

[Karis chuckles darkly. She's not serious.
OR IS SHE?]

Different kind of magic I think.
[Bryn looked back to the counter where they served coffee.]
You care what kinda coffee I grab or should I just pick something?
no subject
Don't care as long as it's black, strong and bitter.

So. Been keeping busy it seems.

You have seen movies, haven't you? At least one?
[Did Karis know what a movie was? Bryn had no idea...]
